We have recently taken possession of the latest GPS equipment from Leica. This equipment replaces our existing Leica GPS which is now 10 years old. The new equipment will upgrade The Surveying Company’s ability to carry out challenging surveys in the shortest amount of time, making projects more cost effective for the client. This has come about through not only hardware advances, which has made GPS smaller and less dependent on cabling but also includes innovations in software that allow GPS to fix locations that otherwise would have been impossible, such as under tree canopy or adjacent to buildings.
The equipment also has the ability to link with the full range of GPS satellites operating now and into the future including US, Russian, European, and Chinese Systems. We see this new gear being particularly useful for topographical surveys and large rural subdivision within the Hawkes Bay.
