What is town planning?
Town planning is one of the more complex disciplines in surveying and land development. It focuses on land use in urban, suburban, rural and regional areas. Typically, town planning addresses urban design, resource consents, changes in land use and subdivisions. It also accounts for environmental requirements and infrastructure in each planning project, including air quality, clean and safe water supply, transport networks, telecommunications and any other services required.
